Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, Saturday convened a meeting to review arrangements for forthcoming Urs Mubarak of Sheikh Syed Abdul Qadir Jeelani, also known as Dastageer Sahib (RA).

The Urs will be observed across the valley and main function will be held at Dastageer Sahib Shrine Khanyar, Sarai-e-Bala Shrine, Rahbaab Sahib Ali Kadal and Asaar Sharief Jenab Sahib Soura from December 30.
The meeting according to spokesman finalized arrangements including uninterrupted power supply, adequate safe drinking water supply, medicare facilities, fire-fighting measures, transport facilities for devotees, sanitation measures at the main congregation places.
Dr Lone directed the police and traffic officials to ensure proper security and traffic regulatory measures on routes leading to the main worship places where large congregations are expected.
He directed the SMC and PDD officials to ensure repair of defunct street lights on all routes leading to the worship places on priority.
