SRINAGAR: In line with the Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority Calendar of Activities for 2024, the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC) Mominabad, Srinagar successfully conducted nine Lok Adalats throughout the year at the District Court Complex Mominabad. These initiatives were aimed at resolving consumer disputes amicably.
The Lok Adalats, which have been a key part of DCDRC Srinagar’s efforts to ensure equitable access to justice, provided an alternative to the prolonged procedures of conventional courts, enabling litigants to settle their issues swiftly and without the complexity of formal court processes.
Out of a total of 134 consumer complaints taken up during these Lok Adalats, 61 were resolved successfully. A sum of Rs 1,02,03,794 was disbursed in favour of the complainants in these cases, highlighting the effectiveness of Lok Adalats in delivering timely justice to those in need.
