Kupwara: District Development Board Kupwara Sunday unanimously approved an annual plan of Rs 219.24 crore for the district with an enhancement of 10.33 percent against the last fiscal year.

The meeting was chaired by minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali.

The meeting according to spokesman  resolved to pursue timely funding for various projects for infrastructural up-gradation, capacity building and beautification works in the district for their time bound completion.

Speaking on the occasion, Zulfikar said that accountability holds key for efficient public delivery system. He also stressed on timely completion of developmental projects so that their benefits percolates to the grass root level.

Present in the meeting were Minister for Rural Development Abdul Haq Khan and Minister for Social Welfare Sajad Gani Lone.

Members of Parliament Muzaffar Hussain Beig and Mir Fayaz Ahmad, Legislators Engineer Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Raja Manzoor Ahmad, Bashir Ahmad Dar, Javed Ahmad Mirchal and Qaiser Jamsheed Lone, besides District Development Commissioner G M Dar, District and sectoral officers were also present in the meeting.

Zulfkar also directed the officers to personally monitor progress of all the ongoing projects and developmental activities so as to ensure their completion within stipulated time.

He directed the concerned to complete Aadhar enrollment at the earliest in the district, so that NFSA is implemented in letter and spirit and people are able to avail various facilities.

On the occasion, the legislators projected various demands and issues concerning their respective constituencies and sought their early redressal.
