District Development Commissioner Budgam Mir Altaf Ahmad, Saturday chaired a meeting to review measures undertaken for snow clearance and availability of essentials in the district.

He also took stock of the progress of various developmental works being executed under Capex Budget, State Sector and other Centrally Sponsored schemes.

During the meeting it was informed that about 77% expenditure has been made till December 2016. The Executive Engineer PMGSY Budgam and Executive Engineer R&B Division Budgam informed the meeting that snow has been cleared from all main roads. The DC instructed for manual snow clearance from lanes/inner links for the convenience of the people.

While reviewing the stock and supply position of the essentials in the district, the Assistant Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs informed that 20350 Qtls of rice has already been kept stocked in the far flung areas of the district and LPG is also available in the district.

The DC directed the Executive Engineer Electric division Budgam to take immediate steps for restoration of power supply wherever it has been disrupted. CMO Budgam was also directed to ensure that all health institutions are functioning properly besides ensuring availability of medical and paramedical staff there.

The DC stressed the Officers to accelerate the pace and progress of the ongoing works so that the targets fixed for the current fiscal are achieved in full and implement the District Development Board decisions in letter and spirit.
