People in Tujan hamlet of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district Saturday staged a protest demanding a thorough probe into the mysterious death of an educated youth.
Reyaz Ahmed according to family members who was MA, B.Ed, and was scheduled to marry next month was found dead on his bed. The uncle of the deceased youth told CNS that whole day on Friday Reyaz worked in his fields and normally returned to his home during evening hours. “He took his food as usual and went to sleep. We were shocked to see him dead in his bed early Saturday morning,” he said and alleged that it was not a natural death.
Amid protest, the relatives demanded thorough probe into the incident. “We believe that he has been poisoned. We want to know the cause of his death,” said a relative.
Police rushed to spot and assured thorough probe. “It will be premature to say whether it is a natural death or he has been poisoned. The post mortem report will clear all the doubts. We have taken up the investigation and hopefully the truth will surface within days,” said a police official adding that a case under 174 CrPc has been registered in this regard.
