SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Friday said that the ongoing closure of educational institutions across the region will be reviewed on Monday afternoon, depending on the prevailing situation.

Taking to social media platform X, the Chief Minister said, “Monday is anyway a holiday. We will review the decision on Monday afternoon. The situation at the time will determine if the closure is extended or not and if extended, for how long.”
The statement announcement by Education Minister Sakina Itoo, directing the closure of all government and private schools, colleges, and universities across Jammu and Kashmir on Friday and Saturday amid the ongoing tensions in the region.
Educational institutions in Leh District were also ordered shut for two days by the District Magistrate following a directive from the Chief Executive Councillor of LAHDC, Leh.
