Acting swiftly, Jammu and Kashmir Police on the request of West Bengal police has arrested chairman cum managing director of the Saradha group, Sudipta Sen from a hotel Snowland, in Sonmarg. Sen was arrested along with his associates identified as Debjani Mukhopadhyay and Arvind Singh Chauhan.Sudipta_sen_120

The West Bengal businessman, Sen is on the run since his chit fund went bust last week, when Mamata Banerjee government had ordered his arrest soon after Saradha group offices across West Bengal began to shut down and many of its cheques bounced

As reported by NDTV, The Jammu and Kashmir Police told  that they detained three people last night on a request from the West Bengal police. A J&K police officer said the three have confessed to being Sudipta Sen and his collegaues. A West Bengal police team is on its way to Ganderbal.
With a huge default in repayments, the group has collapsed, leaving lakhs of fund collection agents and depositors in the lurch. A fund collection agent allegedly attempted suicide because of the Saradha collapse. On Sunday, a 50-year-old woman who had deposited Rs. 30,000 with the company set herself on fire.
