 Paying glowing tributes to late Mirwaiz Moulvi Muhammad Farooq and late Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, on their death anniversaries, CPI (M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has said Delhi must respond to the huge sacrifices offered by people of Kashmir espousing cause for political stability in the region.

In a statement issued here today, the CPI (M) leader said that with the loss of leaders like Mirwaiz and Lone a vacuum was created in the political spectrum of Kashmir. Tarigami termed both the leaders as great sons of the soil, who laid down their lives for peace, brotherhood and peaceful resolution of Kashmir issue.

“With the successful elections in Pakistan, it is high time for both the countries to pick up threads where they had left them long back. There is a huge responsibility on the heads of India and Pakistan to work towards the permanent settlement of Kashmir issue for which the leaders like Mirwaiz and Lone laid down their precious lives,” Tarigami stressed.

The CPI (M) leader said the contribution of both the leaders in religious and political teachings will always be remembered with much reverence for all times to come. “While Late Mirwaiz will be remembered for his crucial role in religious teachings; Late Lone was a learned legislator and also a great social worker who will be remembered for becoming voice for poor and weaker sections of the society,” Tarigami added.
