Under Prime Minister’s special package, Union government has released Rs 1194 crore to Jammu and Kashmir for rebuilding houses damaged during September floods of 2014.

As per the media reports the amount has been credited in the account of J&K’s Financial Department.

“The relief will be thereafter disbursed among the affected people through Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts,” a report in daily excelsior said.

The report added that modalities for disbursement would also be finalized in near future “so that this exercise is completed in shortest possible time”.

The special package was announced by PM Modi during his visit to Jammu and Kashmir on November 8, 2015.
