The visit has prompted heightened security around Lal Chowk, with public access to the Balidan Stambh being restricted to ensure smooth proceedings. Officials confirmed that paramilitary troops and police officers have been deployed to secure the area.

Sources said that Deputy CM Choudhary will likely begin the Republic Day commemorations by offering tributes at the memorial before attending the flag-hoisting ceremony at Bakshi Stadium. However, the exact sequence of events remains unconfirmed.

Preparations at the Balidan Stambh are in full swing, with officials reviewing arrangements and a rehearsal parade conducted today to ensure readiness for the event.

The Republic Day celebrations in Srinagar are expected to draw significant attention, with tributes to martyrs forming a central part of the observance. Lal Chowk, the heart of the city, has been decked up for the occasion, underscoring its significance in the celebrations.

Security measures have been intensified in and around Lal Chowk to ensure the safety of dignitaries and the smooth execution of the programme. Police officials have assured that all arrangements are in place to uphold the sanctity of the event.
