A grand farewell, organized by District Administration Kupwara, was given to outgoing Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Rajeev Ranjan (IAS) on Monday.
In the function it was stated that the outgoing officer has implemented a number of developmental programmes, restoration of Law and order resolution of issues and disputes, relief and rehabilitation, measures and mitigation of problems faced by general public at large. The function was held at meeting hall, in DC office Complex, which was attended by a gathering of District Officers, members of civil Society, some officials and media persons.
The Officers included ADC Kupwara, ADC Handwara SDM Sogam and SDM Tangdar and civil society members.
Chief Planning Officer, Kupwara Imtiyaz Ahmad while speaking on the occasion highlighted new initiatives taken by Rajeev Ranjan during his tenure (March 2015- November 2016). He stated that rationalisation process in Education Department was initiated by Rajeev Ranjan, which was later implemented in the entire state.
The officer also gave a concept of cluster based planning in the tribal developmental plans, which was appreciated by Hon’ble Chief Minister. He said, “During the tenure of Rajeev Ranjan, National Food security Act, implementation of Adhar system and total sanitation campaign schemes were effectively implemented in this district.” And added, “Due to Ranjan’s direct intervention and hard work, all commitments made by Ex Hon’ble Chief Minister late Mufti Mohammad Syed were fulfilled, which gave this district an award by GOI.
