At a function organized at party head office in Srinagar, Basharat Hussain who had secured considerable votes from Pattan assembly segment in 2014 elections, while speaking on the occasion said, “AIP is the best option for all those forces and individuals who really feel pain of Kashmiris and want Delhi to persuade for a peaceful and honorable settlement to Kashmir dispute.” Er Rasheed on the occasion said “While people are feeling let down by the traditional politics of NC and PDP, who have done nothing except diluting Kashmir cause, AIP promises to give Kashmiris a plate form which will represent the true sentiments, sacrifices and aspirations of masses at every forum.

“Party has shown consistency at all levels and fought against all odds and represented the sacrifices of masses in and outside the assembly,” said Er Rasheed in a statement. “Kashmiris don’t seek anything that Indian constitution doesn’t allow, as it was none other than Jawahar Lal Nehru, the first ever custodian of the Indian constitution, who promised us plebiscite and as such question of surrendering the genuine right of self- determination doesn’t arise,” he said.

“While today is the occasion to remember the martyrs of Sopore massacre, the best tribute to the sacrifices made by Kashmiris will be to strengthen those voices who believe that New Delhi has not done any justice with Kashmiris till date and peaceful resistance is the genuine means to get Kashmir issue resolved,” Er Rasheed said.

Er Rasheed while seeking co-operation from sincere and sensible voices appealed masses to give AIP a chance to represent Kashmir cause the way it needs and deserves to be represented.

He said, “Despite all hindrances and barriers being created by Delhi and its agencies, AIP will try to knock every door in Jammu and Kashmir and will try its best to replace the politics of proxies of Delhi so that the sacrifices of Kashmiris do not go waste.”
