The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) has decided to go ahead with the Mains examination for the combined Civil Service Examination (CSE)-2016. Even after opposition from some civil service aspirants, the JKPSC has said the CSE Mains-2016 will be held from November 7-28 as per the schedule already announced by the commission.

The JKPSC declared the prelims result on April 23 even after wrong answer keys were shown against 24 questions. The dropout candidates approached the Chief Minister’s Grievance Cell which ordered a revision of the prelims result.

Subsequently, the JKPSC issued the revised result on August 9, dropping 429 candidates who were declared qualified earlier.

The commission said the dropped out candidates did not make to the revised cut-off merit of 277.275 marks after applying revised answer keys. The ousted candidates challenged the revised list in the court and are demanding postponement of the Mains examination.
