Director General of Police (DGP) Jammu and Kashmir Dr SP Vaid IPS accompanied by senior police officers of Kashmir Zone on Sunday visited the Shopian, Pulwama, and Awantipora areas of south Kashmir in a daylong tour.

The police spokesman said that during the visit, DGP interacted with the police officers and the police personnel at all the three places.

He interacted with the Police Personnel and patiently listened to their grievances. The DGP also held interaction with all the jurisdictional officers of all the three districts and discussed various issues while taking stock of Law and Order situation.

“While addressing the Police Personnel he informed them that PHQ has taken a number of welfare measures for officers and all other ranks, the spokesman said.

He said that PHQ has taken up issues including increasing of hardship allowance, pay anomalies and some other service matters with government through the administrative department. DGP was accompanied by IGP Kashmir Zone Shri SP Pani IPS and DIG SKR Shri Amit Kumar IPS during his visit to South Kashmir.

The spokesman said that the respective district superintendents of police Shopian, Pulwama, Awantipora briefed the DGP regarding the security situation and the measures taken by them. The DGP gave a patient hearing to the grievances made by the officers and other ranks. The DGP complimented the Police Personnel for their work on different fronts of policing.

While inaugurating the administrative block at district Police lines Awantipora DGP said that the PHQ is keen on providing more facilities and accommodation to the police personnel so that they can discharge their duties more efficiently, the police spokesman said.
