Jammu and Kashmir Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a drug peddler from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

The police spokesman in a statement said: “continuing with its drive against drug menace, Bandipora Police today arrested a drug peddler and recovered 480 grams of Charas from his possession.”

“The peddler has been identified as Mohammad Rafiq Wani son of Mohammad  Abdullah Wani resident of Athmullah Bandipora. He was nabbed at a checkpoint established at Nishat Park Bandipora by a police party of Police station Bandipora,” police said.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 69/2018 under section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Bandipora and further investigation set into the motion.
