Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister said the Speaker had clarified everything on the last day of the session. “The adjournment motion brought by the members was an inappropriate move, as the motion aimed to contest the local government’s decision. However, had the resolution been tabled differently, the outcome could have been different.”

The Chief Minister further said the party has now approached the Supreme Court in this regard and added, “Let’s wait for the court’s response.”

Regarding the restoration of statehood, the Chief Minister said they believe the time is right, as six months have passed since elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir.

He added that during the recent visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the region, he met the minister separately. “I am hopeful that statehood will be restored soon,” he said. (KNO)
