DIG CID Kashmir Mr ND Wani was accorded a warm farewell on his superannuation at a function held here today, a police statement said on Friday.
IGP CID Dr. B Srinivas was the chief guest on the occasion.
Born on 2.01.1954, Sh. Wani after completing MSc, B.Ed, joined J&K Police as Deputy SP in 1984 and rose to the rank of Dy. Inspector General of Police. He has been decorated with Presidents Police Medal for Meritorious Services in 2004, DGPs Commendation Medal-2004 and Sher-e-Kashmir Medal for Meritorious Services 2010, the statement added.
During his service, he served as SDPO Noushara Rajouri, DYSP (Admn) Police Training College Udhampur DYSP Hqrs District Kathua, DYSP Traffic Rural Kashmir, SDPO MR Gunj, Addl. S.P Srinagar, UN Deployment Kosovo, SSP Security Kashmir, SSP Vigilance, AIG(P) PHQ and DIG CID Kashmir.
