DIO-Issued ID Now Mandatory for Media Entry at Official Events in Baramulla

   

SRINAGAR: The District Police Headquarters (DPHQ) Baramulla has directed that only media persons carrying valid identity cards issued by the District Information Officer (DIO), Baramulla, will be allowed entry to official functions, VVIP/VIP visits, religious gatherings, public events and other locations requiring security deployment.

The order, issued by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla Gurinderpal Singh, IPS, has come into immediate effect and will remain in force until further orders.

According to the order, the measure has been introduced in view of security arrangements and access control requirements during official functions, VVIP/VIP visits, religious gatherings, public events and other occasions requiring police deployment.

The order states that all officers and personnel deployed on duty must strictly verify media credentials at access control and checking points. No individual claiming to represent print, electronic, digital or social media platforms will be permitted entry unless they produce a valid identity card issued by the DIO, Baramulla.

It further directs supervisory officers to ensure strict compliance with the instructions by all personnel deployed under their command, warning that any violation or unauthorised access will be viewed seriously.
