Director Agriculture Kashmir Syed Altaf Aijaz Andrabi said that the department is initiating various farmer friendly schemes to double their income.

He stated this while chairing a meeting of Joint Directors, Divisional Heads and concerned officers of the department.

Director Agriculture took stock of physical and financial progress under capex budget, progress on implementation of Kissan Credit Card Scheme, targets & achievements under Soil Health Card (SHC) Scheme, status of PM-Kissan  and PMKMY Scheme, monitoring of sale of FCO & Non-FCO products, Fertilizers and  status of Farm Produce Organizations.

The Director asked the farmers to approach concerned Chief Agriculture Officers to avail benefits under the schemes. He said during the current year 625 hectare of land has been earmarked for promotion of high value exotic and organic vegetables.

He further said that 2000 number of mobile non-motorized vending carts, 200 motorized vending carts, 75 deep borewell for harnessing of ground water, 400 tube wells, 1000 irrigation pump sets, 70 Tractors, 5000 tool kits of small farm machinery, 310 power sprayers and 635 weeder are being provided to the farmers on subsidized cost during the current financial year.
