Director Information and Public Relations, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar has condoled the demise of senior journalist Maqbool Veeray who passed away yesterday at Anantnag due to a massive heart attack.
The Director Information termed late Veeray as a journalist who made his name in media due to his hard work and excellent reportage through which he highlighted issues of public importance. She termed Veeray as a multi-talented person who was also a writer, poet, and satirist.
The Director said that the passing away of Veeray was a huge loss to the media fraternity of Kashmir in general and South Kashmir in particular. She said that late Veeray was an inspiration for the younger journalists and his demise will be felt for many years to come.
The Director offered her deepest condolences to the bereaved family. She prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage for the bereaved family to bear the huge loss.
