SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered the attachment of Udhampur District Mineral Officer, Salam Din (JKAS), to the Administrative Department with immediate effect. The order, issued by the Mining Department, states that Mohammad Imtiaz, District Mineral Officer, Reasi, will assume additional charge of the post until further orders.
The move follows a communication from the Personal Section of the Deputy Chief Minister, J&K, regarding allegations of illegal mining operations in Udhampur. In response, the government has directed the Director of Geology and Mining, J&K, to conduct a thorough investigation into these allegations. The inquiry will focus on identifying any administrative negligence or collusion, and a detailed report with recommendations must be submitted within a week.
Authorities have assured that the investigation will be conducted impartially, and any instances of misconduct or negligence will be dealt with strictly.
