SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole, today called for strict mask compliance by volunteers in Kashmir to stop the spread of Covid-19, while chairing a Covid-19 analysis meeting here.

He directed NSS, NCC, NYC, SDRF, and other volunteers to conduct comprehensive Covid-19 SOPs awareness and mask compliance across all Kashmir districts.

He stated that teams will complete the exercise separately and that anyone who violates the SOPs will be fined severely.

While the Psychiatry department will resume counselling services for the general public through various helpline numbers, he said the YSS Physical Teachers will conduct virtual exercises, especially Yoga classes, to improve students’ mental and physical health.

Volunteers should be deployed in specified hospitals as a manpower boost in different departments, directed the Divisional Commissioner.

The Divisional Commissioner further instructed concerned to ensure the hassle-free distribution of immunity boost medicine kits among the citizens, emphasizing the importance of raising public awareness about immunity boosting.

He mentioned that the medication would be distributed free of charge through Social Welfare Centers, Primary Health Care Centers, and Ayush Centers.

The Div Com aslo stressed on mass awareness through media and instructed concerned exporters to aware people about the new strain, precautions, importance of following SOPs and other related issues through TV, Radio, Print and Social Media. He also impressed upon maintaining the proper home isolation of positive patients for their recovery.

The Divisional Commissioner began by examining the most recent developments in positive incidents, suicides, individuals in home isolation, referrals, containment areas, and contact tracing on a district-by-district basis.

The meeting was attended by Director School Education, Director Colleges, Commandant SDRF, HS Regional Red Cross Kashmir, In Charge Covid Control Room, YSS officer Srinagar, HoD SPMGMC, HoD Psychiatry GMC, Div Nodal Officer ISM and other concerned. (KNS)
