According to Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Kashmir Valley is likely to get affected by a fresh western disturbance which is approaching the state upto February 23, 2013, followed by another western disturbance likely to affect the state on February 27 and 28, 2013.
In view of this weather is likely to deteriorate, moderate rain and snowfall will occur at wide spread places of Kashmir division especially areas of district Islamabad, Baramulla, Bandipora, Kupwara and Drass Sector and at few places of Ladakh region.
As per a statement people in these areas are advised to avoid movement during snowfall and not to venture into steep avalanche-prone slopes during the said period and frequently remove snow from their roof tops of their houses to avoid any causality due to house collapse and in case of any eventuality shall contact concerned Deputy Commissioners on their Contact Numbers already published.
