In view of arrangements for ensuing celebration of Shab-e-Qadr, Jamat-ul-Vida and Eid-ul-Fitr, the Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan today convened a joint meeting of officers of Divisional Administration.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone, Director FCS&CA, Regional Transport Officer Kashmir, Director Health, DIG police, SSP Traffic besides senior officers of different departments of LAWDA, R&B, PHE, PDD, SMC, Animal Husbandry, Drug and Food Safety organization, SRTC, RTO, Fire & Emergency Services, J&K Muslim Wakf Board and Urban Local Bodies.

The Div Com also convened a meeting through Video Conference with all Deputy Commissioners of Valley including Deputy Commissioners of Leh and Kargil and reviewed the arrangements being made in their respective districts for auspicious days.

The Director CA&PD informed the meeting that adequate stock of essential commodities is available in the valley, besides additional quota of sugar is being provided to the consumers. Div Com said that all Deputy Commissioners would ensure the smooth distribution of essential commodities in the Valley.

He asked the departments of Food Safety, FCS&CA Kashmir, Srinagar Municipal Corporation and Legal Metrology to intensify the market checking in the city and all other districts and take legal action.

He also exhorted upon the SMC authorities to provide better sanitation arrangements in the city and other important religious places.

He directed the PDD for uninterrupted power supply and directed SMC for installation of street lights at important places of Srinagar city.

Div Com stressed for better transport facilities to the devotees visiting religious. He also directed all Deputy Commissioners of Valley for providing better transport facility to the people during these auspicious days.

Div Com was informed that for the minimizing the traffic jams in the city a traffic route plan would be formulated.

Khan directed Health Department to ensure better health care facilities at major congregational places. Similarly, Animal Husbandry department were asked to deploy mobile vans for sale of chicken at various places in the Valley.
