Div Com Reviews Srinagar Traffic Management Plan, Sets Deadline for Key Road Projects

   

SRINAGAR: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Anshul Garg, on Wednesday reviewed the progress of major traffic management initiatives and road infrastructure projects aimed at easing congestion and improving urban mobility across Srinagar.

Chairing a multi-disciplinary meeting, Garg took stock of ongoing and proposed projects, including the Natipora Crossing–Chanapora Bridge road, T-junction at Natipora, Shalteng–Parimpora Flyover, Foot Over Bridge at JVC, underpasses at Nowgam and Mominabad, and the road project along the Doodganga bank from Barzulla to Sanatnagar.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Vice Chairman Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), Regional Transport Officer (RTO) Kashmir, SSP Traffic Srinagar, and senior officers from Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department, Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL), besides other concerned officials.

Officials briefed the Divisional Commissioner about the current status of various projects, progress achieved so far and expected timelines for completion.

The meeting also discussed measures including painting of zebra crossings and stop lines, setting up of an e-charging station at Batamaloo, development of bus stops, removal of traffic bottlenecks across Srinagar and identification of no-honking zones.

Emphasising better coordination among departments, Garg directed all agencies to expedite the execution of projects within stipulated timelines. He said timely completion of these initiatives would play a key role in streamlining traffic movement and ensuring better convenience for commuters across the city.
