Amid heated exchange of arguments with right wing BJP Lawmakers, AIP chief and MLA Langate Er Sheikh Abdul Rasheed Wednesday reiterated the need to resolve J&K dispute for durable peace in the region.

While intervening in the issue pertaining to violent protests in Jammu after alleged desecration of sacred structure at Roop Nagar Jammu, Rasheed accused BJP of communalising the situation in Jammu region.

“While for an act of a mentally retarded person communal forces are seeing it as an opportunity to harass Muslims in Jammu region, police seem to be very reluctant in dealing with the miscreants who have damaged public and private property in Jammu,” Rasheed said.

He rejected BJP MLAs claims that Roop Nagar incident is a “planned” conspiracy and reminded them that they should not see every incident through the “prism of conspiracy and need not to forget that it is due to failure of India and Pakistan to resolve Kashmir dispute that creates sense of conspiracy among BJP leadership and puppets of New Delhi”.

“Neither India’s claim of J&K being its integral part is true nor does Pakistan’s claim that Kashmir is its jugular vein carry sense. Unless both the countries will not understand the significance of resolving Kashmir dispute, it hardly will make a change,” he added.

Rasheed while pointing towards vacant seats in Assembly asked his fellow lawmakers not to forget that these seats are meant for representing masses of PaK but nobody has been able to fulfil the dream of filling these vacant seats.

He urged upon all political parties to see the issue through a political and humanitarian angle and not to find communal intensions in every issue.
