Terming the policy adopted by government of India with regard to tackling post flood situation in Kashmir as ‘aggressive and unsympathetic’, Hurriyat Conference (JK) leader and chairman Democratic Freedom Party Shabir Ahmad Shah Wednesday accused the Modi-led government of making Kashmiris sacrificial goats just to win elections in some states.

“To neglect the deluge-stricken people on the onset of winter season is, no doubt, a grave human rights violation and the government of India does not shy away from this just to fulfill its petty political agendas,” Shah said, while lashing out at GoI said.

He said, at the time when people are in search of food and shelter; those at the helm of affairs are busy in election politics. “This is nothing but anti-people attitude.” Shah once again reiterated that the magnitude of loss is such that it can’t be met without the assistance of international community.

Meanwhile, Shah, along with his relief team were on visit to various areas of north Kashmir’s Sopore including Sher Colony, Maharajpora and other adjacent areas. The team distributed relief material among the people and assured them that HCJK will continue to aware the world community regarding the catastrophe inflicted by floods in Kashmir.
