While inspecting various food establishments’ including provisional stores and medical shops, Wednesday Health Officer Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Dr Rubeena Shaheen along with her team of food safety officers inspected M/s Bindroo Brothers.

In a statement PRO SMC said the owner was caught red handed selling flood affected medicines and other eatables. “Dr Rubeena on spot suspended the food license of the owner and has sealed down the shop on spot. Most of the medicines including baby food and other eatables of his provisional store were found flood affected,” she said.

Dr Rubeena said that she informed the Drug Controller about the issue “who rushed to the spot and got his drug license suspended.”

“We warn all the food business operators including pharmaceuticals to refrain from selling of any kind of flood affected daily essentials otherwise stern action will be taken against them,” she said.

Meanwhile, the PRO said, more than 20 shops which were constructed illegally at Abi Guzar and Regal Lane were demolished by enforcement wing of the Corporation. Besides this tin sheets and wooden planks in bulk has been seized from defaulters and laid in Municipal Central Office.
