SRINAGAR: The Water Works Division in Srinagar has postponed the planned desilting of the 1.5 MG Service Reservoir at the 10 MGD Water Treatment Plant in Doodhganga. The maintenance, initially scheduled for January 1 2025, has been delayed due to unfavourable weather conditions and technical challenges.
In an official order, the department expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the postponement. Citizens have been advised to reach out to the Provincial Control Room of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department for emergencies or further information. “The Control Room operates 24/7 and can be contacted via landline numbers 0194-2477207 and 0194-2452047, or WhatsApp numbers 9419413914 and 9419413915.”
The department has assured the public that updates regarding the rescheduling of the maintenance work will be provided in due course.
