SRINAGAR: Police in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday attached a double-storeyed residential house in Namblan village of the Sheeri area in connection with a terror-related case registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), officials said.
The property, situated on Survey No. 423, belongs to accused Aijaz Ahmad Ganie, son of late Mohammad Sultan Ganie, police said.
According to a police spokesperson, the property was attached under Section 25 of the UAPA in connection with FIR No. 37/2026 registered at Police Station Sheeri under Sections 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 19, 20, 23, 38 and 39 of the UAPA.
Police said the investigation had prima facie established that the property was allegedly used to provide shelter and logistical assistance to terrorists and facilitate terrorist activities, bringing it within the relevant provisions of the UAPA concerning proceeds of terrorism.
The attachment followed approval from the Director General of Police, J&K, conveyed through Order No. 2695 of 2026 dated September 22, 2026, officials said.
A public notice has been placed at the property, restricting its sale, transfer, lease or mortgage and prohibiting the creation of any third-party interest, police said.
The police spokesperson said the action formed part of ongoing efforts to dismantle the logistical and support networks allegedly used by terrorist organisations and to take legal action against persons and properties found to be involved in facilitating such activities.
Baramulla Police said they would continue to take lawful action against terror networks and their support structures in the interest of public security.
