After the murderous attack on Dr Sheikh Jalalud din Thursday near his residence in Pampore, the doctors treating him at SKIMS told Kashmir Life over phone that Dr Jalal is stable now but has lost his vision.

Dr Jalal a renowned cardiologist and former director of SKIMS was shot along with his two personal security guards by some unidentified person but the state police claim that he was shot by militant. The two guards later succumbed to their injuries leaving Dr Jalal critically wounded. He was rushed to SKIMS where he was operated upon.

Doctors told Kashmir Life, Dr Jalal has received two bullets, one damaging his both eyes and another pierced his abdomen, leaving some minor injuries.

Stated to be stable by the team of doctors who are continuously monitoring his condition said Dr Jalal will recover soon but has lost his both eyes.

“we tried our best but unfortunately couldn’t save his eyes. Hopefully he will recover soon,” said doctor wishing not to be named.
