SRINAGAR: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Dr Sanjeev Sinha as the Executive Director of AIIMS Vijaypur in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on Friday, Dr Sinha, who is currently Professor and Head of the Department of Medicine at AIIMS New Delhi, has been appointed on deputation.
The appointment has been made in Level 15 of the Pay Matrix for a tenure of three years from the date of assuming charge of the post, or until he attains the age of 70 years, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In the same order, the ACC also approved the appointment of Lt Gen (Retd) Narendra Kotwal, Director of Endocrinology at Paras Health, Panchkula, and former Director and Commandant of the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, as Executive Director of AIIMS Bhopal on a contract basis.
The appointments were cleared following a proposal submitted by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Dr Sinha’s appointment is expected to strengthen the leadership at AIIMS Vijaypur, one of the premier healthcare institutions established under the Centre’s Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY) to improve access to tertiary healthcare and medical education in the region
