SRINAGAR: On Sunday afternoon, at about 1310 hours, a Scorpio (HR5I AP-O671) moving from Kokernag towards Duksum hit and injured a minor Huzaif Ahmad Khatana son of Muneeb Ahmad Khatana resident of Dandipora, police said.
Khatana was shifted to Sub District Hospital Kokernag for treatment where from he was shifted to District Hospital Anantnag, but he succumbed to injuries on way. The accused driver fled from the spot with his vehicle.
Police said they registered a case FIR number 71/2017 under section 279, 337, 304-A RPC and investigation was set into motion. In quick follow up, Kokernag Police arrested the accused driver identified as Subzar Ahmad Ganie son of Abdul Rashid Ganie resident of Taragam Qazigund and seized the vehicle.
