SRINAGAR

Police said a driver was seriously injured and his vehicle was damaged in stone pelting in south Kashmir.

In a statement issued here, the police said on Friday evening miscreants pelted stones on vehicles at Batengoo in the jurisdiction of Police Station Anantnag. Some vehicles were damaged in this incident.

A driver identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Kabir Dar resident of Lalad Sopore suffered head injury in this stone pelting incident. His vehicle was also damaged. A case FIR number 253/2016 under section 307, 147, 148, 149, 336, 427 RPC has been registered and investigation taken up.
