A driver was killed while another person was injured after a tractor met with an accident at Chhajla in Mankote area of Mendhar in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
Reports said that that the tractor skidded off the road at Chhajla this evening and rolled down resulting in critical injuries two persons including the driver.
Both the injured were shifted to SDH Mendhar where the driver Mohd Asif (20) son of Mohd Sadiq of Basoni village succumbed. The injured has been identified as Mujeeb-ur-Rehman son Mohd Amin of Dharana village.
BMO Mendhar Dr Parvez Khan confirmed the death of the driver and said that the other injured have been referred to GMC Jammu in critical conditions.
SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar also confirmed the mishap and the death of the driver. He said that the tractor was on the way towards Mendhar from Chhajla when the mishap took place.
“A case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigations were taken up,” SDPO said. (GNS)
