Hundreds of drivers and passengers held a massive protest demonstration in Sonemarg on Thursday against police for not allowing them to proceed towards Kargil with their vehicles.
Reports said that protesters blocked the road in Sonemarg and held massive protest demonstration however police swung into action to disperse the protesters who resorted to stone pelting on the cops who retaliated with teargas shelling and lathicharge.
Two persons sustained injuries in the police action.
Officials said that vehicles are allowed to ply only between 5 am to 8 am on the highway.
