SRINAGAR: Security forces on Thursday recovered 1.5 kilograms of heroin, valued at over Rs 8 crore, near the International Border (IB) in Jammu.
Officals said that the drugs were found in Bahadurpura village, Bishnah area, after a local spotted a suspicious bag lying in a field, prompting authorities to investigate.
A preliminary inquiry suggests the consignment was dropped by a Pakistani drone, raising concerns over cross-border narcotics smuggling.
Police have registered a case and launched a detailed investigation into the incident to trace the origin and intended recipients of the seized drugs. (KNC)
