SRINAGAR: Police have arrested a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police spokesman said they had a specific information, on basis of which, the Police Station Aishmuqam headed by SHO Aishmuqam laid a naka at Hangalpawa, Aishmuqam. During naka checking, one person namely Majid Khan son of Abdul Rehman Khan resident of Hangalpawa, Aishmuqam was intercepted. On checking, about 04 kilograms of Charas was recovered from his bag.
A case FIR number 31/2017 under section 18/20 NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Aishmuqam and further investigation was taken up.
