SRINAGAR: Directorate of Health Services Master Trainers gave basic support training to 100 students of Presentation Convent Higher Secondary School, a spokesman of the health services said.

“Various topics were included which ranged from managing bleeding patients to CPR in an Unconscious Patient without breathing. At the end a mock drill was also held wherein the students were made to simulate and prioritise in handling trauma patients as a first responder,” the spokesman said.

BLS Master trainers included Dr Arshad Rafi, Dr Ijtaba Shafi, Dr Sabeena Zargar, Shafi Shah, Ms Farhana and MsNighat who were assisted by Dr Kounsar from PCHS. Director Health Dr Saleem ur Rehman and Principal sister Phyllis were also present on the occasion.

At the inaugural session Director Health Services, Kashmir briefed upon the seriousness of the department in expanding the BLS Training outreach programme. He stated that out of 7000 people trained in BLS by DHSK till date, more than 2000 people have been trained outside the Directorate which involved Police personnel, airport employees, school & college children, and media fraternity.
