SRINAGAR: The police in Baramulla arrested two drug peddlers and seized contraband substances from their possession.
The arrests were made at a checkpoint in Bernate, Boniyar, by a police team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of Police Station Boniyar. The suspects were identified as Imtiyaz Ahmad Mir, son of Ab Ahad from Bernate, and Nadeem Ahmad Thokar, son of Gh Rasool from Kalantra Bala Kreeri.
During the search, authorities recovered 14 grams of charas-like substances from the duo. Both were taken into custody, and their motorcycle was seized.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of law at Police Station Boniyar, and an investigation has been initiated.
The police urged the public to report any drug-related activities or crimes by contacting the nearest police station or dialing 112. “We assure the community that we will take strict action against criminals in accordance with the law,” a police spokesperson stated.
