As winter has set in, the weather in Kashmir valley is expected to remain dry for the next seven days, Meteorological Department officials said on Thursday.
As Kashmir remains shut for consecutive 125 days, the valley is simultaneously witnessing longer drier season.
“There has not been much rain since July. The water level in wells and springs is reducing and people at many places are facing acute shortage of drinking water,” officials said.
“There is gradual decrease in temperatures,” Director MeT, Sonum Lotus said. “The mornings and evenings will be colder.”
The Director cautioned motorists about the visibility.
“Due to presence of particulate matter, smoke and smog, the visibility will be low during mornings,” he said.
