SRINAGAR: The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) on Monday ordered the closure of all government and private schools across the Jammu Division for September 2 in view of heavy rains and landslides in hilly areas.
According to the order, issued in the wake of a weather alert, the step has been taken to ensure the safety of students and staff.
“In view of the weather alerts and incessant rainfall causing landslides in hilly areas, and in order to ensure the safety of students and staff, it is hereby ordered that all government and private schools across Jammu Division shall remain closed on 02-09-2025,” the directive reads.
The order further directed that online classes be conducted wherever possible.
