A protest demonstration, opposing the entry of Surjit Singh Salathia, was held by PDP and BJP leaders outside the Hiranagar Block in Jammu where the polling was held for the seats of legislative council.
The protesting leaders said Salathia had entered in the premises of polling booth along his supporters. But soon after, IGP Dilbagh rushed to the spot and gave clear instructions to the officers ‘not to let enter anybody in the premises except Panchs and Sarpanches’.
It was the second such incident during the day long polling. Earlier, PDP candidate Yasir Reshi had complained to election observer in valley that Forest Minister Mian Altaf was using his officials in polling booths including deputy commissioner Ganderbal.
