Netherlands has offered technical support to the Jammu and Kashmir Government to increase productivity and improve quality of the cherry fruit crop in the State, an official spokesman said.
Visiting horticulture experts from Netherlands, Jan Lindman and Hans Florain conveyed this to the Secretary Horticulture, M H Malik during a meeting here last evening.
The experts from Netherlands offered to transfer the latest technology along with the improved germ plasm of cherry fruit crop to J&K where, they said, the climatic conditions are conducive for growing quality cherries.
The Secretary Horticulture told the delegates that the Department would be more than eager to seek technical support from Netherlands for development and expansion of horticulture sector in the state.
