A group of unknown gunmen abducted a nephew of a Deputy Superintendent of Police from his home in Thairun Trenz village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on late last night.
Reports said that a group of masked gunmen barged inside the house of Mohammad Ashraf Shah and abducted his son Adnan Ahmad Shah.
Adnan is a nephew of Deputy Superintendent of Police Mohammad Syed Shah.
Shah is currently posted at PHQ Srinagar.
Meanwhile, forces have launched a search operation to trace the abducted youth.
Earlier, several such cases were reported from south Kashmir.
