SRINAGAR: Amid rising temperatures, Education Minister Sakina Itoo on Thursday announced that school timings would be changed from the coming Monday.
Speaking to reporters, Itoo did not specify the revised timings, stating that the details would be shared through an official order to be issued shortly.
“We have received a number of calls from parents requesting a change in school timing. We have decided to shift to an early morning schedule starting Monday,” she said.
The minister also supported the suggestion that morning assemblies should be held in shaded areas or large indoor halls, wherever available.
Over the past few weeks, day temperatures have increased, and according to the weather department, heatwave conditions are likely to persist. (GNS)
