Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) on Monday said that October 8, 2005, is a day of introspection for the denizens of Jammu Kashmir living across the ceasefire line, LoC, who witnessed a devastating catastrophe on the same day in 2005 when a powerful earthquake hit the Kashmir the area straddling the Line of Control.

A JKLF spokesperson in a statement said that the exemplary show of unity, dedication, brotherhood, sacrifice, and selflessness displayed by the people of Jammu Kashmir after that devastating earthquake remains a glowing page of our history.

While praying for all those who lost their lives in that devastating catastrophe, the spokesperson prayed to Allah Almighty to save the nation of Jammu Kashmir, Muslim Ummah and rest of the world from such devastations.

Meanwhile, JKLF has expressed shock and grief over the accident at Banihal Ramban road in which dozens of people lost their lives and many got severely injured.

On the instructions of JKLF incarcerated chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik, a party delegation comprising Moulana Muhammad Yakoob Rabbani and Shams ud din Rahi visited the families of all deceased in an accident and delivered condolences from JKLF chairman to them.

Yasin Malik was arrested by police on October 2 and remains lodged at Kothi Bagh police station along with JKLF vice chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi who was arrested last night
