The earthquake occurred at a depth of approximately 22 kilometres and was felt across parts of southern Iran, prompting local authorities to monitor the situation and assess any potential impact.

Officials said there were no immediate reports of deaths, injuries or significant damage following the quake. Emergency and local authorities continued to evaluate conditions in the affected area as a precaution.

Iranian media reported that the tremor was experienced in several nearby localities, although no major disruptions were immediately recorded.

Iran is among the world’s most earthquake-prone countries due to its location along several active geological fault lines. The country experiences frequent seismic activity, ranging from minor tremors to major earthquakes that have caused widespread devastation in the past.

Authorities said assessments were ongoing and further updates would be issued if any damage or casualties were identified.
