SRINAGAR: The Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid Srinagar has announced that the Eid-ul-Azha congregational prayers will be held tomorrow at the historic Jama Masjid in Nowhatta at 9:30 AM. Prior to the prayers, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq will deliver the traditional Eid sermon at 8:30 AM.
In an official statement, the Anjuman expressed regret that authorities have once again denied permission for holding the central Eid congregation at the Eidgah Srinagar. The organisation noted that the move disregards a long-standing Islamic tradition and the collective religious sentiment of the people.
Calling upon the faithful to attend the prayers at Jama Masjid in large numbers, the Anjuman urged worshippers to reflect on the values of unity, submission, and sacrifice that lie at the heart of Eid-ul-Azha.
