SRINAGAR: The Election Commission of India on Saturday rescheduled the date of counting for the Jammu and Kashmir polls following a change in the polling date for Haryana to October 5.
According to an order, the poll body rescheduled the counting date from October 4 to October 8.
The decision was made after the poll body received several representations requesting a rescheduling of the election in Haryana, which was initially set for October 1.
Now, the assembly election in Haryana will be held on October 5, and the counting of votes for both Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana will take place on October 8, the poll body said. (KNO)
